Jones shines with the new ball as Argentina fails to reach triple digits

MONDAY, JULY 18: Seamer Malachi Jones claimed three wickets as Bermuda restricted Argentina to 93 for eight in their opening regional World Twenty20 2012 qualifier in Florida this morning.

Opening bowler Jones led the way with superb figures of three for 10 bowling unchanged from the northern end of the ground.

Jones  was backed up by fellow strike partner George O'Brien Jr who claimed two for 20, while spinner Joshua Gilbert claimed one wicket for 21 runs.

Middle order bat Gary Savage topped the Argentines' batting, thumping 38 from 46 balls.

Savage smashed fourth change bowler Sammy Robinson over deep mid on for six in the penultimate over of the innings to register Argentina's first boundary.

Bermuda is chasing 94 runs for victory at an asking rate of 4.7 runs per over.[[In-content Ad]]
