Jeffers to head destination marketing for East Point
FRIDAY, JUNE 24: Jeffers: Atlanta promotion
Charles Jeffers II has been appointed to East Point senior vice president, operations and executive director of sales and marketing for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
ACVB recently became East Point’s destination marketing organization.
Mr Jeffers will oversee destination marketing for the City of East Point in an effort to boost hotel occupancy and visitation.
William Pate, ACVB CEO and president, said: “I can always count on Charles to excel when taking on new responsibilities. I know that he will steer the success of this important new initiative with the City of East Point.”
Aspen: $60M in losses
Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited gave an initial estimate of losses of $60 million, net of applicable reinsurance, reinstatement premiums and tax, related to the severe weather events of thunderstorms and tornadoes in the US, of April and May.
Aspen believes its loss estimate is consistent with the industry loss for these events of $15 billion.
BF&M earns $5.7 million
BF&M Ltd announced net earnings for the three month period to March 31 yesterday.
At $5,698,673, this brings a 10 per cent return on shareholders’ equity. Earnings for the 2010 quarter were $5,916,313.
John Wight, president and CEO, said: “We were satisfied overall with the company’s financial results given the current economic climate in Bermuda.
“The company’s earnings from underwriting activities were negatively impacted by higher health claims, which resulted in a loss for this major line of business.”
