Jammers stuff up Spicenix

Spicenix failed to close the gap on leaders Pinjammers in the Continental Bowling League. Pinjammers won 19-11.

Pat Price had a great night as she rolled the high game with a 237 and also had the high series for a woman with a 583.

Edna-Mae Tuzo's 206 was turned into a 567 series while June Pitt (193) and Pebbles Tucker (553) also made the honours list with good scores.

Reggis Saunders (222), Harold Minors (218) and Robert Wilson (214) had the top three games for the men while the series honours went to three different men. Stephen Paul (605), Hilton Hayward (578) and Wayne Kelly (570) all rolled well.

Ladies Classic League

While Upstarts struggled against Changes, Classy ladies knocked down Strike Zone to take over second place.

Weneika Steede (226, 559) and Kenneisha Simmons (219, 559) were the top two women but June Pitt (203) and Josie Richardson (536) also bowled well.

Scores: Classy Ladies 18, Strike Zone 2; Hot Tamales 10.5, Fresh Blood 9.5; Changes 7, Upstarts 13; Lucky Strikes 9, Pacesetters 11.

Standings: 1. Upstarts 148; 2. Classy Ladies 133; 3. Strike Zone 129; 4. Fresh Blood 118; 5. Lucky Strikes 113; 6. Changes 91; 7. Hot Tamales 78; 8. Pacesetters 70.

East End Winter League

Fireballs blazed upwards in the standings with a 9-0 triumph over Trailblazers.

Quinton Hayward had the top game with a 220, which he parlayed into a 555 series.

Top series honour went to Tim Lodge (560) while Elliot Douglas had a 557 built upon a 211 game. Malcolm Clark had a 205 game.

Leading the women was Maryellen Jackson who had a 215 game and 554 series. Rita Smith had a 208 game and 552 series while also making the honours list were Linda Simons (208), Sandra Brangman (204) and Beth Stovell (494).

Scores: Here We Come 6, See-Breeze Strikers 3; Habetes 2, TLC 7; Trailblazers 0, Fireballs 9; Pin Snipers 8, Up-N-Coming 1; Spare Collectors 9, Ten Pins 0.

Commercial Bowling League

Several bowlers reached the 190s, but none could breach the 200 mark. Corinne Durrant and Chris Leverock were agonizingly close at 199, but Kalvin Simmons (196) and Kenneth Fox (195) also were off by just a few pins.

Malikah Symonds (170) and Tiffany Glasford (168) had the second and third high games for women.

Handicap serious honours went to Kenneth Fox (542), Robert Symonds (506), Maxwell Hassell (486), Tiffany Glasford (490), Corinne Durrant (460) and Doreen Smith (445).
