Governor's silence on recent bloodshed is deafening

Have you ever wondered what deer caught in headlights look like? Seen any lately? I have.

Think back to the ZBM evening news on Tuesday. I saw a whole Cabinet full of deer, looking desperate.

I listened carefully to the country's leader. What I heard was more words, more promises and more passing the buck.

Meanwhile, a new breed of criminal talks with a gun. Can you hear them?

They are on the perimeter and our defences are weak.

How am I supposed to feel about sports day, from this day forward, at Victor Scott school? What should I do, show up to see my children run from guns?

Tell you what, I'll buy them blue ribbons to stay home.

And I'll be heading straight to the Ministry of Education demanding a transfer.

The Premier said measures need to be taken that only the Governor can take. Would this be the same guy who stood by the Premier shortly after the senseless murder of teenager Kellon Hill saying the Government has his silent support?

With all due respect Sir Richard, your silence is deafening.

It just might be time to bypass Cabinet and the House of Assembly and march to Langton Hill.

To the Cabinet members collectively, you have seen fit to cut the education budget but for what?

More $6 million tourism pie in the sky campaigns?

You have finally managed to release a five-year plan for education - what does that say to tax-paying parents like me with a son on his way out of middle school?

It tells me the system was a failure way before he entered it. I emancipated myself from mental slavery with the help of a power greater than us all.

Since I let go and let him in I haven't looked back. I look forward, move onward, keep striving upward. I fear no evil.

But to the people of my country, I'll say it again - it's time to demand more from Government House.

Isn't the Governor ultimately responsible for our safety?

Maybe a little rap might help get my message across:

Clock's ticking, gun violence is getting old - and those deer in the headlights ain't bold.

When it comes to me, my family, my house, my soul - the love for my party has turned cold.
