Flight schedules return to normal after cancellations
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8: Flight schedules are back to normal for the rest of today and tomorrow, an airport spokesman said.
Two American Airlines flights this morning were cancelled due to stormy weather caused by Hurricane Katia.
But an airport spokesman said that no further flights had been cancelled today and normal service had resumed as Katia continues to move away from the island.
An AA customer service representative confirmed on Wednesday that this morning’s flights – AA271 to Miami scheduled for 8:15am and AA1443 to New York’s JFK airport scheduled for 9:15am — had been axed.
Katia is still listed as a potential threat to Bermuda and strong winds and gale force gusts are anticipated today and tomorrow.
