Victor Scott has been adopted by G&D Body Shop, Prospect Primary School by ACL Construction Ltd., West End Primary School by Bermuda Security Group and East End Primary by TeleBermuda International and TN Tatem by Hunt’s Group of Companies..
Originally, the initiative was for primary schools only, but Nelson Hunt requested to adopt the middle school.
Mr. Hunt said: “I understand that money is tight but it doesn’t only have to be money, it could be services provided.
“It’s a really beautiful school and it has to be maintained.”
He continued: “Teachers need to teach and we can come along and do the other things.
“I’m really proud to be a part of this.”
Wayne Edwards of Bermuda Security Group said: “It’s not all financial. Bermuda Security Group, basically we wanted to make sure that we gave not just money but our services as well. We feel we can come on board and make a safe environment for West End.
“We believe it’s a good programme. Whatever it takes, we’re here to do it.”
Education Minister Dame Jennifer Smith said: “These community-minded businesses are already well known to the community, and they deserve our thanks.
“Their contribution brings the amount committed to school improvement to one hundred and forty-thousand dollars for twelve schools.
“And before you ask, yes, we still have schools in need, so I continue to look forward to adding adopters to our list.”
