Fish, Jenkins get XL wild cards

Americans Mardy Fish and Scoville Jenkins have been granted wild cards into the main draw of the XL Bermuda Open.

Both Jenkins and Fish will be taking part in the Junior Clinic on Sunday, April 16th at the Coral Beach and Tennis Club.

Also making appearances will be Jana Novotona and Bulgarian Magdalena Maleeva as a part of the second annual Champions Challenge.

Fish has a career high singles ranking of no.17 in the world (2004). Fish holds one ATP singles title and was a silver medalist at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

Jenkins, 19 is a rising U.S. tennis prodigy.

He was a semi-finalist at the 2004 Junior Wimbledon competition and reached the quarter-finals of the Junior Australian Open. Jenkins also won the boys 18 and Under singles title at the United States Tennis Association National Championships in 2004 becoming the first African-American to do so .

Novotna has a career high singles ranking of no. 2 in the world and a career high doubles ranking of no.1 in the world. She holds an impressive 24 singles titles and 76 doubles titles. Maleeva reached a career high singles ranking of no. 4 in the world in 1996. She had the misfortune of being the opponent of Monica Seles in 1993, when Seles was stabbed on the court.[[In-content Ad]]
