Final pairings taking place
A Division
Tuff Dogs evened their series against Snowballs with a 20-12 win, scoring ten runs in the third inning to pull away. Kevin Taylor (4/5, 8 RBI) homered twice to keep his team alive. Kirk Duerden hit a two-run shot for the Snowballs.
B Division
Allpoints advanced to the finals with an easy 18-6 win over BISYS. Mike Sterzuk (3/5, 6 RBI) highlighted the game with a first inning grand slam, while Jaime Neto (3/5) and Joan Chang each drove in three runs for the Allpoints. Fred Jean doubled home two runs in the final inning for BISYS.
C Division
Marsh Madness tied their series at a game apiece with a narrow 22-21 victory over Docksiders Tuff Dogs, scoring twice in the final inning to take the game. Mike Fullen (4/5) homered twice to drive in six runs, while Pat Ferguson singled home the game winner. Manny Faria drove in three runs for Docksiders, who scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning but could not hold on to the slim lead.
Marsh took the deciding game by 12-7 to complete the upset. Thom Strange (4 RBI) homered and Kourtney Cotton added two hits for Marsh. Harry Andrews drove in three runs in the loss.
D Division
Bermy Lush Kiskadees tied their series with a 15-12 win over BEST Shipping, scoring ten runs in the fourth inning to jump ahead. Richard Madeiros (3/4, 4 RBI) hit a grand slam to cap the scoring in the fourth. Scott Doughty (3/4) hit a three-run homerun to lead BEST.
The Kiskadees completed the series comeback with a 17-14 win in the deciding game. Steve Rose (3 RBI) collected four hits in the win, while Sharon DeCouto added a run-scoring single. David Sousa (3/5, 2 RBI) went deep in defeat.
Mens Division
Sea Venture hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back homeruns in the first inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead, then held on for a 29-11 win to eliminate Barracudas from post-season play. Daniel Bordage (4/5) managed to keep four balls inside the park to drive in four runs for SVOS. Heath Kihn (3/4, 3 RBI) homered for the Barracudas.
Tuff Dogs advanced to the finals with a narrow 24-22 win over E&Y in a marathon game that ended on an out of the park out with the tying runs in scoring position.
Ryan Gaglio (4/4) homered twice and drove in seven runs before leaving the game with an injury, while Hywel Brown drove in three runs, including an insurance mark in the eighth inning.
Kean Driscoll (4/5, 3 RBI) went deep in his return to action for E&Y.
