WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28: Staff from the Fairmont Southampton combed the South Shore beaches on Saturday, looking for trash.
The resort’s Green Team — consisting of 24 staff — took part in the annual Keep Bermuda Beautiful Marine Clean-up.
Environment
They joined organizations and members of the public from across the island to remove trash from the bays and beaches.
Rita Healy, Fairmont Southampton Resort hotel manager, said: “Our participation not only supports the Fairmont Southampton’s goal of minimizing our environmental impact on the island, but also gives us the opportunity to join with the community in maintaining the beauty of Bermuda.”
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts operates Green Teams in its resorts around the globe, aiming to protect the habitat, cultures and resources of countries in which it operates.
Its Green Partnership Programme aims to reduce the impact of hotels on the environment.
Initiated in 1990, this focuses on energy and water conservation, waste management, and community outreach programmes.
