Fairmont Southampton trains 'talented' Bermudian
WEDNESDAY, JULY 6: The Fairmont Southampton has once again accepted a summer student for its maintenance department.
Jamel Minors is currently in school in Canada with help from the National Training Board (NTB) and the Fairmont Southampton.
He is enrolled at the Cambrian College of Applied Arts & Technology in Sudbury for engineering certifications.
Regional director for Human Resources Nelda Simons said: “We are pleased to partner with the National Training Board on this outstanding initiative with such an impressive young man and we welcome the opportunity to help a talented, dedicated Bermudian to achieve his potential.
“At the end of his training Bermuda will have a more highly skilled Bermudian Engineer and Fairmont Southampton will have gained a phenomenal new colleague here at the Fairmont Southampton.”
Upon completion of his training, Mr Minors will be employed by the Fairmont Southampton in the Maintenance Department as a shift building operator for a minimum of two years.
