WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14: Bermuda’s best equestrians will strut their stuff this weekend at the Welcome Home Show at the Botanical Gardens.

The Show will take place on Saturday and Sunday and will showcase several of Bermuda’s overseas professional riders.

Two of the highlights will be Patrick Nisbett and Jillian Terceira, fresh off their Pan Am Games competition

Ki Minors has been competing, training and selling horses on the East Coast out of his Wellington, Florida base.

Raishun Burch, who is currently in the UK at University but who is regularly based in Germany competing internationally — will be returning home to compete.

Each professional rider will lead a team of local juniors and adults in a round of show jumping competition.

Pan Am Games qualifier, Annabelle Collins, who competes in Europe, will return to the island and will showcase a dressage demonstration.

Dedication

Burch said he “Looks forward to competing with the other junior riders and giving back to the Bermuda equestrian community. I hope it will boost more interest and encourage the juniors so that they can also compete away successfully with hard work and dedication.”

Funds raised from this competition will assist the Bermuda Equestrian Federation in their efforts for the 2012 London Olympics as well as for the BEF Junior Fund, which will allow a promising young rider to train overseas in the summer of 2012.

The BEF is immensely grateful to our Team sponsors, Docksiders Pub & Restaurant, The Swizzle Ltd., The Bistro at The Beach and Crown Landscaping and to our many corporate and individual sponsors who have stepped forward to help us make this show possible.

The Welcome Home Show will take place in the Main Show Jumping Ring of the Botanical Gardens with the opening ceremonies commencing at approximately 10am on Saturday, December 17.

The show will open at 9am on Sunday, December 18.  Admission is $5 and can be purchased on the grounds.
