Lionel Cann is very important to our team. As a batsmen who can either stay at the wicket and stabilize things, or, if we need it, he can be somebody explosive and go out there and bang.

He’s proved that in Cup Match previously and he’s proved that this season already and we have every confidence in him.

‘Picnic’ is another valuable asset to St George’s.

He’s just 24, but he still has a lot of experience already.

He’s a solid all-rounder and is a stabilizing bat in the middle order. If we lose quick early wickets, he is somebody that can go in there and hold down the fort.

Jason Anderson is the rock of our batting lineup. He takes the sport very, very seriously. He is one of the most serious cricketers.

Behind the wicket, we can have confidence in his glove work. He will be fine in all areas for us.

Glenn Blakeney has been recalled for us. He is one of Bermuda’s most explosive batsmen. He can score runs every day.

He is a big game player and a game changer. We’re vert happy to have him back on the team.

We definitely needed Delyone on this side. He has a lot of experience which is useful in a match like this. With the youth we have a blend of experience like Delyone’s is needed. He is an off break spinner and an all-rounder. He can bat anywhere in the lineup from start to finish. He can take quick wickets when needed as he knows Somerset’s lineup well.

A good top order batsman who has a few Cup Match games under his belt. He has proven himself in the past and I have every confidence that he will go out there and do the job given to him by the coach. As an added luxury can step in at wicketkeeper if Jason gets injured. That’s a blessing to have him as a batsman/wicketkeeper.

I love watching Allan Douglas Jr play because he’s more like an entertainer. he can go out there and blast away.

But he’s also won of our best fielders and he takes his fielding seriously. He works hard in the field. I just love watching him play.

Treadie Gibbons, 26
Left-hand bat

Treadie has proven himself year in and year and I’m really surprised it’s taken him this long to make his debut in Cup Match.

I’ve played against him for years and he’s one of those batsmen you don’t want to play against. You had o see him walk to the pitch. On any given day he can run up the score on you and frustrate you. That’s what he brings to the table for St George’s. I am very pleased to see him on the side.

Kyle Hodsell, 23
Right-hand bat
Right-arm medium fast

CUP MATCH STATS

Kyle is another hard worker. He used to play for St George’s. He just seems to get better and better.

He is a medium pacer, swing bowling and he works hard at it.  He causes a lot of problems for batsmen.

This year he has really come into form and he’s another player I’m really glad to see get a chance to play in Cup Match.

Justin can open the bowling with his medium pace. He is a strike bowler.

He is an asset because Justin is an all rounder too.

Last year there was an injury that prevented him from bowling a lot of overs, but he has proven his fitness in the trials and I am confident that we are going to see big things from Justin this year He will lighten Stefan Kelly’s load this year.

Every year Stefan comes through for St George’s. He really stepped it up last year when Justin Pitcher was injured. Hopefully, he won’t have to carry the load he did. He’s one of the best bowlers in Bermuda and great to have on St George’s.
