Dunkley's motivated, honest - help him deliver

Dear Sir,

I read the article in your November 9 edition titled "Is this the make or break battle?" This article focused on the upcoming election in Smith's North, constituency 10.

Comments by Patrice Minors motivated me to make a comment. In the article she is quoted as saying that since Mr. Dunkley runs his own business he thus has the flexibility to go out and canvass. Is she saying that she doesn't have the time for her constituents? If so then maybe she needs to move on.

In my mind comments like these show a total lack of understanding on the part of Mrs. Minors on how businesses are actually run. Absentee owners or managers do not last long. Last I checked you had to be hands on to have a successful business, putting in a lot of time, effort and planning. From what I know of Mr. Dunkley, and I work for him, he is one of the hardest working people that I have ever met. In addition he is a highly motivated, honest and a respected man.

It is my opinion that he would be a great representative for Smith's North, as he has been for Devonshire East. I am sure he will bring all the energy, commitment and service to the people of this area that he brings to every task.

Mrs. Minors should learn from him. Had she paid any attention to the area after getting elected in 2003 she would not have to be nervous about re-election this year.

Finally, I think Mrs. Minors made a big mistake when she was quoted as saying that Mr. Dunkley should enjoy his retirement after losing the election. A comment like this will only motivate him to work harder.

Dunkley is my man for a better Bermuda, I urge you all to help the milkman deliver.
