Dr Kevin Brown jailed for sex assaults
FRIDAY, DEC 16: The doctor son of former Bermuda Premier Dr Ewart Brown was today jailed for 12 years for a string of sex assaults on woman patients.
Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Michael Pastor said Dr Kevin Brown preyed on vulnerable patients, according to the Associated Press.
Brown, 40, was also ordered to pay more than $13,000 in restitution.
Prosecutors said Brown attacked 11 patients over five years at three of his clinics.
Among his victims were a 15-year-old girl and an undercover police officer.
Brown was found guilty in August on 21 counts, including sexual battery, sexual exploitation and committing a lewd act.
Brown, whose father stepped down as Premier last year, was well-known for his charity work and organised a celebrity poker tournament at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 to benefit his health institute.
