Dogs maul Panthers
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24: Tuff Dogs are the only undefeated team in the A Division after two weeks of play.
A Division
Tuff Dogs 17, Panthers 10
Docksider’s Tuff Dogs used a seven-run fourth inning to break open a close game versus PCS Panthers.
Mike Musson (2-4) hit a solo shot in the inning as Ryon Outerbridge (2-3) hit the first of his two triples. Steve O’Flynn was 3-4 from the cleanup spot for Tuff Dogs while teammate Sir Barton had a three-run homer.
Preston Mallory hit a three-run homer for Panthers as they scored five times in the second inning while Kyle Ball added a two-run shot in the fifth and Javanie Fubler a two-run blast in the sixth.
Pest Control 21, Rosa’s 5
Pest Control scored 11 times in the fifth to smash free from a 6-5 game to coast to a mercy win.
Rosa’s Banditos rubbed salt in their own wounds by committing five errors in the fifth.
Richard Madeiros was four for five for Bermuda Pest Control, including two singles in the fifth.
Terance Corday (2-4) and Alex Styche (4-4) hit back-to-back homers in the first for the winners.
Cameron Moffitt (3-4) used up Pest Control’s last homer in the first inning with his own two-run shot.
Andrew Simpson (2-2) hit a two-run homer for Rosa’s while Mike Mallott was the only other Bandito with two hits.
B Division
Paraquet 22, Water Tours 21
Bermuda Water Tours scored 10 runs in the first to jump up to a strong lead but Paraquet Flyers plated 12 runs in the last two innings to steal the win.
Donnie Moniz was 4-4, including a three-run homer in the first for Water Tours. Teammate Kenrick Richardson was 3-5 with a homer while leadoff batter Brian Hall (3-5) also homered in the losing cause.
Carl Gibbons (3-4) scored the winning run for Paraquet off an error. Dennis Joell hit a grand slam for the winners. Second base woman Tiffany Swann (5-5) was perfect at the plate and drove in three runs for the victors.
Phil Maybury was 3-3.
Citi 19, Know Dat 20
You Know Dat scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to edge past Citi.
Prior to the seventh, You Know Dat got homers from Matthew Fullerton (1-5, 4 RBI), Justin Brookes (2-5) and Drew Masher (1-5) while Steven Simons (3-4) and Jason Simons (3-5) both had three hits in the triumph.
Mike Korff had a homer for CITI and Mike Gentile was also 3-5. Antonio Frias, Neil MacGuinness and Darragh O’Donoghue had two hits for Citi.
C Division
Pitchers 12, COH 9
Where My Pitchers At slipped past the Corporation of Hamilton thanks in part of Cole Shepard. The leadoff man was 3-4 and started the game off with a homer. Teammates Michael Carter (3-3) and Zack Attack (3-4) provided some of the offensive firepower for Pitchers At.
Most of the Corporation’s bats must have been on strike as only Frederick Richardson (3-4) and Billy Tatem (2-4) managed more than one hit.
