Dogs hound A.F. Smith
Tuff Dogs 24, AF Smith 9
Kevin Taylor (4-5) powered The Dogs to the mercy win with a homer and four RBI. Team-mate Steve O'Flynn was also 4-4 while Ryan Gaglio (1-3, 4 RBI), Justin Barritt (3-5) and Paul Aviles (2-5) also homered. Gaglio's blast was a grand slam in the first inning capped a 10-run first inning for Tuff Dogs.
Marcus Flannery (2-3) hit two homers and knocked in seven runners for Smith. Curtis McInnis (3-4), Chadwick Stoddard (2-4), Chris McLean (2-4, HR) and Tim Gunning also had good turns at the plate.
Sun Control 25, Precision Cabling Panthers 16
This was a competitive game for four innings before Panthers' bats grew cold.
Sun Control roared out with 10 runs in the first with Steven Simons (5-7) hitting a three-run shot. Panthers took an 11-10 lead after two as Adam Mattal (3-5) homered to help put them back into the game. Panthers took the lead in the third thanks in part to Dion Ball (4-6, 5 RBI). The teams were tied after four with Paul DeCouto (2-5) homering for Panthers and Chris Coleman (4-6) supplying a two-RBI double for Sun Control. A seven-run seventh helped Sun Control regain the lead. Matthew Hayward (4-6) and McLaren Lowe (4-6) also batted well for Sun Control.
C Division
TPC Tees 22, KPMG 23
KPMG batted around twice in the first inning, but then had to make a comeback in the last inning to win this exciting contest. KPMG scored 17 times in the first with Peter Dahil (4-4) hitting two homers in the frame. Matt Mahar (3-3) also homered for KPMG in the inning.
TPC clawed their way back and briefly held the lead when Jahmai (3-4, 5 RBI) scored in the top of the fifth. KPMG won when Mark Laing scored on a series of errors in the bottom half of the inning.[[In-content Ad]]
