Dogs drop opener, then knock Ernst out of the play-offs

Ernst & Young took the opening game of their series, then dropped both games of a doubleheader as Tuff Dogs advanced to the Men's Division finals. Steve Velotti pounded out six hits to lead E&Y in the first game. Steve O'Flynn drove in two runs as Tuff Dogs broke open the second game with a six-run seventh inning to tie the series. Danny Cook drove in four runs in the deciding game.

Construction grounds Flyers

Island Construction dropped Frontier Flyers to earn their first appearance in the final round. Ryan Calhoun drove in two runs during a key five-run fifth inning. Troy Dort homered and drove in two runs for Frontier.

Stars close Cafe

Cairo's season

International Stars defeated Café Cairo to move into the Ladies' Division finals. Wendy Smith knocked in three runs and Jerry-Lee Swan brought home two to lead International. Tali Davis drove in two runs for Café Cairo.

No shock as Electri-Cute defeat Sluggers

P&M Electri-Cute also moved into the finals after smothering the Swizzlin' Sluggers. Charlene Corday had four extra-base hits and drove in three runs to lead the way, while Angela Bennett added three hits. Mandy L'Heureux collected four hits to drive in two runs and Kelly Madeiros doubled twice to bring in three for Swizzlin.

Docksiders advance

Docksiders rolled over Marsh to move into the B Division finals. Baron Barton homered and drove in four runs, while Bill Sanders chipped in four hits to drive in four. Blaine Bernard hit a two-run shot for Marsh.

ACE lock up Police

ACE moved into the finals with a win over Police Enforcers. Joe Bellanca slugged two homeruns and drove in five runs to lead ACE, while Paul DeCouto also homered and drove in four. Jason Ming homered twice and drove in five runs in defeat.

BEST ships two wins

BEST Shipping recovered from their first loss of the season to defeat BISYS twice and move into the C Division finals. Lianne Leonardi slammed a homerun to spark BEST to tie the series. BEST then overcame a slow start in the third game to pull out a narrow win. Andre Trott and Nelson Arruda both homered and drove in five runs, while Shawn Warman added a homerun and brought in four. James Sutterby knocked in three runs for BISYS in each game.

Olympia ejected

Killer Goldfish scored three times in the seventh inning to edge Olympia in the opening game. Greg Bell collected five hits and drove in three runs, while Daniele Bortoli added five hits. Jeff Jane hit a grand slam to pace Olympia. Killer Goldfish later advanced to the finals after Olympia forfeited the second game of the series due to player ejection.

Tee's make finals

TPC Tee's and LOM Bombers went the distance in their series, with TPC advancing to the D Division finals with a thrilling extra innings win in the third game. Scott Gardner drove in three runs in the opening game for LOM, while Howard Daniels added a two-run homerun. Jonathon Minors hit a three-run homerun to power TPC to the win in the second game.

In the deciding game, LOM appeared ready for an upset leading 7-3 in the final inning, before TPC scored four runs to force extra inningsy tying the game on a two-out two-run homerun by Jonathon Minors. After LOM failed to score in the top half of the eighth inning, Shervin Jennings scored the clinching run on an error to end the series.[[In-content Ad]]
