Special
Mr Brown said of Ms Riley: “Not only is she beautiful, but she has that extra special zing both in front of the camera and on the runway.”There was also a modelling contest for youngsters, with three categories for the ‘Future Face of Bermuda’.
Overall winner was Azure Burrows, aged four, of Hamilton Parish. The runners-up were Thandiewe Stovell, Jai Burgess and Ava Braddock.
Margaret Giloth, president of Phenomenal People, described Azure as “a beautiful, blossoming flower”.
Of Ms Riley she said: “The sunlight shines brightly through Desiree.”
Mrs Giloth said: “We have partnered with UK model scouts, McCallion Brown Modelling & Management, to offer Bermuda’s young model hopefuls the opportunity to gain training, development and exposure that would otherwise not be available to them.
“The fact that we are showcasing so many young people as potential models in the international arena, demonstrates that Bermuda has got talent.
“As a charity that seeks to help people reach their full potential, Phenomenal People is truly living up to its purpose.”Up to 125 male and female adult contestants and 25 junior entrants entered the contest in May.
The adult models then took part in three challenges, including appearances at Harbour Nights.
Ms Riley was announced as the winner on Saturday. Runners-up were Preston Ephraim II and Danielle Smith.
