Comets see Stars, lose 21-5

Women's Division

Dandy Stars 21, Comets 5

The Comets scored five times in the second inning but then flamed out in a loss to Dandy Stars. Onika Holder had a three-run triple that helped the Comets to a 5-3 lead.

Dandy Stars roared back with six in the third and 12 in the fourth to help end this game early. Casandra Trott (3-5) had an inside-the-park homer and drove in six runs for the winners.

Café Cairo 20, P&M 2

Tiffany Swan set the tone for this game when she led off the first inning with an out of the park homer. Cairo would pound out 24 hits with Sarah Robinson (4-4, 4 RBI), Ash Lopes (3-4, 3 RBI), Diane Laird (3-4), Tiffany Swan (3-4), Laurel Powell (3-4) and Joanie Harper (3-4) all having great nights at the plate.

Tina Robson (2-3) and Diane Blais (2-2) were the only Cuties with two hits.

EACy Girls 18,

Beach Babes 11

Alana Rathburn (3-3) plated six runners as she helped the Girls to a comfortable victory. Team-mate Sionna Barton was 4-5 with two doubles while Nicole Phillips was 3-3 and scored four times. Linda Mienzer (4-5), Janine Harris (3-5), Duan Smith (3-3) and Zina Jones (3-6) were the best hitters for the Babes.

Men's Division

Sun Control 19, Tuff Dogs 14

Sun Control pulled down the shades early in this contest as they scored 12 times in the first three innings and then held on as Tuff Dogs made it a contest late.

Jermaine Jeffers (3-6) hit a three-run homer for Sun Control and Mclaren Lowe blasted a grand slam for the victors in this battle of the top men's teams.

Kevin Taylor (3-6) homered for the Dogs while John Ray was 3-6.

PCS Panthers 27,

A.F. Smith 13

Panthers scored 18 times in the second and third innings to coast to this triumph. Preston Mallory was 5-7 with eight RBI, including a grand slam. Jevanie 'Smoky' Fubler was 6-7 as was Josh Strang while Paul DeCouto managed to hit 5-7 with his shirt tucked in.

Marcus Flannery (5-6) and Chris McLean (4-4) were the top hitters for A.F. Smith.

A Division

Tuff Dogs 21, P&M 5

The Dogs dominated this contest as they limited P&M's scoring almost solely to home runs. Cleanup man Kevin Taylor (2-2) drove in six while Justin Barritt (2-3) knocked home four for the Dogs. Both Ryan Gaglio and Andrew Burgess were 3-3.

John Ray, Chris Coleman and Mclaren Lowe were all 2-3 with a homer for P&M.

B Division

BEST Shipping 13, Docksiders Tuff Dogs 9

A pair of homers by Shawn Warman (3-4) helped BEST slip past Docksiders. Warman's two blasts came in the last two innings and plated five runs. Matthew Hayward (3-3) and Paulo Arruda (2-4) were the only two BEST batters to get two hits. Ryan Outerbrdige, Sarah Robinson and S. Deets were all 3-4 for Docksiders.

C Division

BF&M Sharks 12, JLT Park 7

Donnie Moniz (5-5) was perfect at the plate as he helped lead BF&M to its eighth win. Lead-off man Mike Soares was also 5-5 while Ryan Matcham was 4-4. David Spear (4-4) Patrick Kenahan (4-4) and Victoria Williams (3-4) were the top hitters for JLT.
