Champ tribute

The legendary Alma ‘Champ’ Hunt will be celebrated today when the Bermuda National Library holds a special presentation.

Author and historian Ira Phillip will present a copy of his book Champ! The One and Only Alma Hunt at 11am in the newly opened Bermuda History and Cultural Studies Room.

Following the presentation to celebrate this Hall of Fame athlete, both Mr. Ira Philip and Ms. Ellen Kelly, who is the author of the children’s book Champ to the Rescue, will be available to sign copies of their books, which can be purchased after the presentation.

Hunt is considered by many to be the greatest cricketer Bermuda has ever produced. He is the only Bermudian ever to be invited to take part in a West Indies trial.
