Castlewood shocks division leading Tuff Dogs
DaCosta Larrier drives in five in Endurance 17 to 7 win
Jeff Edy (4/5) doubled home two to put the game away, while Wayne Newhook (3/4) went deep twice to drive in six runners.
Castlewood had a chance to win the game in seven innings but had a runner thrown out at third base.
Hywel Brown drove in three in defeat.
Endurance scored early and often in a 17-7 win over Robin Hood. DaCosta Larrier (3/5) and Jesse Halderman (3/4) each drove in five runs for Endurance.
Peter Smith (2/3) drove in two in the loss.
Renegades scored an insurance run in the sixth inning, as they edged BISYS by 8-6.
Preston Mallory (2/3) drove in two to lead the Renegades. Antonio Frias doubled in two for Endurance, who failed to score after the fourth inning.
Allpoints opened with eight runs, then coasted to an 11-9 win over The Beach. Darcy Bell (2/3) and Trevor McHaney (2/3) both drove in a pair for the Allpoints. Blaine Bernard (3/4) homered and drove in five for The Beach, who posted all nine runs in the final two innings in a late comeback attempt.
Men’s division
Tuff Dogs opened with nine runs as they soared past Police by 31-19. Kenrick Richardson (6/6) blasted two homeruns and drove in eight, while Ryan Gaglio (3/5) knocked in five.
Jason Ming (5 RBI) went deep and Garic Swainson (4 RBI) added two dingers in the loss.
Tuff Dogs added another big win, as they crushed Ernst & Young by 29-14.
Kevin Taylor (4/6, 3 RBI) and Justin Barritt (6/6, 7 RBI) went deep to lead the Dogs.
Steve Velotti (3/5, 3 RBI) and Monte Palsat (4 RBI) homered for E&Y.
Barracudas scored six times in the final inning to slip by Travel Connection Jets by 21-20 in a game called short for time.
Ian Moores (5/5, 5 RBI) hit a three-run bomb, and Greg Periera (3/5, 4 RBI) drove in the game winner. Paul DeCouto (5/6, 5 RBI) homered for the Jets. n
