Capital G donates additional $20,000 to Meals on Wheels

THURSDAY, DEC. 6: In consideration of the continuing challenges faced by our local economy, Capital G announced today that the company will make an additional donation of $20,000 to Meals on Wheels in lieu of holiday gifts and seasonal celebrations.

“This year, in addition to matching incoming donations and volunteering, we feel that it is extremely important to ensure that our friends at Meals on Wheels have the additional support needed to provide much needed services, nourishment and care,” Mr. Truran said. “There is an increased demand for their services through the holidays and we hope that today’s donation will help them bridge the difference during these challenging times.”

“We are truly appreciative of the Capital G family for their additional support this holiday season,” said Meals on Wheels Chairman Joe Gibbons. “Today’s donation means that we will be able to provide additional assistance to so many of our neighbors who depend heavily on us, especially now.” He continued, “Our entire staff would like to thank Capital G for their constant commitment to our cause, and their tireless volunteer efforts and charitable contributions.”

The donation was presented to Meals on Wheels Chairman Joe Gibbons today at 2pm at the Capital G Reid Street branch.

Additional Support

Capital G employees will also partner with Meals on Wheels to collect donations during the Gibbons Company Charity Shopping Day tomorrow, Friday, December 7th. Customers who donate at least $5 will receive 20% off regularly priced merchandise.

Holiday Giving Back Continues

The Holiday Giving Back programme is currently underway. All donations should be received by 5pm on Friday, 21st December. Capital G will match all contributions up to a capped amount and all funds will be donated to Meals on Wheels.

Donations may be made to Meals On Wheels via the Capital G Bank ‘Giving Back’ account via the following ways:

1.        Deposit at Capital G’s no-wait deposit box located inside the bank at 19 Reid Street

2.       Deposit with a Capital G Teller at either of our Branches located at:

a)      19 Reid Street

OR

b)     1 Church Street (Maxwell Roberts Building)

c)      Ask the teller to make a donation to Meals On Wheels into the ‘Giving Back’ account.

3.      Donate $5 at Gibbons Company’s Charity Shopping Day on Friday, 7th December and receive 20% off regularly priced merchandise

4.      Transfer funds via Capital G eBanking on www.capital-g.com

a)      Utilize the Bill Pay function by transferring from your Capital G Bank account

b)     Click on Bill Payments, Make Payments, select Capital G Bank Giving Back from the billers list - click "Retrieve"

c)      In Bill Account Number enter your name or simply donation and click "Submit"

d)     Select the account you would like to debit your donation from, select the date to debit and the donation Dollar amount in Bermuda Dollars and click "Initiate"

e)      You now have the option to print your donation confirmation

f)       Telephone the Call Centre at 296-6969 if you need assistance
