Cann called up for Bermuda squad as only nine players make training
Coach Gus Logie said he had asked the pair, who starred for St George's at Cup Match, to be part of the tour and was waiting for a response.
But he admitted he was still struggling to put a squad together with only nine players training this week.
"We're looking right now for a team to go to Canada. We leave on Sunday and I can't give you a team right now.
"I know most of them are available. Right now we are training with nine guys. We've asked a couple of others to make themselves available.
"We've asked Delyone Borden, we've asked Lionel Cann, who indicated that he wants to come back, and we're waiting for a response."
He said fast bowler Ryan Steede was also expected to come back into the squad for the series, which will include Bermuda's first official ODI against the West Indies and their first match-up with a top tier nation since the World Cup in 2007.
Logie sought to quell expectations ahead of the match insisting his young side could not be expected to compete with the Windies.
"As far as some people are concerned we should win every game we play - no matter who the opposition is.
"But I think batting 50 overs would be an achievement, scoring 200 runs would be an achievement."
He said it was also a chance for players like Stefan Kelly, Stephen Outerbridge and George O'Brien, who had performed well in Ireland, to impress again on the world stage. "People were impressed with the way George bowled, he put himself out there on the market. He knows what he has to do to improve. Stefan Kelly continues to be the model pro and Stephen Outerbridge is another player who has come on in leaps and bounds.
"If they continue to perform, who knows what will happen. A good performance against a side like the West Indies and they will be talked about on the world stage again."[[In-content Ad]]
