Best Shipping avoids upset in softball playoffs against Kiskadees

Bank of Bermuda Allpoints opened with a dozen runs en route to a 21-16 win over BISYS. Ian Moores (4/5, 9 RBI) highlighted the game by slamming a trio of three-run homeruns, while Jason Pethick (4/4) drove in three runs in support.

Mike Gentile (5/5, 5 RBI) hit a pair of homeruns for BISYS, who posted seven runs in the fourth inning to pull close, only to give back six runs as Allpoints put the game away.

Docksiders Tuff Dogs scored four runs in the final inning to edge Marsh Madness by 15-14. Trevor Ferguson (3/5, 3 RBI) singled in the tying runner, before Ryan Outerbridge (3/4, 3 RBI) walked to force in the deciding run. Manny Faria also drove in two for Docksiders. Mike Fisher (3/4, 4 RBI) hit a three-run homerun for Marsh, who narrowly missed an upset victory after earlier winning a tiebreaker game just to qualify for the playoffs.

BEST Shipping gave up three runs in the seventh inning to cough up the lead, but managed to squeeze two runners across in the extra frame to pull out a 17-16 thriller over Bermy Lush Kiskadees. Scott Doughty (3/5, HR) drove in three runs, including a game-ending two-run single, and David Sousa also brought home three runners. Jermaine Jeffers (4/4, 5 RBI) homered twice for the Kiskadees, and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning, setting up BEST's final rally.

Ernst & Young defaulted the second game of their series to Killer Goldfish, allowing the Goldfish to advance to the finals in a two game walk-over.

HSBC scored six runs in the first inning, as they soared over PwC Onions by a 19-4 final. Graham Strange (3/4, 4 RBI) homered and Gary Carr added four hits for HSBC. Scott Slater (4 RBI) hit a pair of two-run homeruns to provide all the offense for PwC.

TBI Highspeeders advanced to the finals with a 20-9 win over BNY in their second game. Victor Fishington (3 RBI) doubled three times while Chris Pitcher (5 RBI) capped off the game with a grand slam. Andrew Burgess drove in two runs for BNY.

In Mens Division play, Sea Venture scored 14 times in the first frame, as they easily dropped Barracudas by a 29-8 count. Al Chavis (3/4, HR) and Chris Coleman (HR) each drove in five runs for SVOS, while Mark Herauf (5/5, HR) fell a double short of the cycle while also driving in five runs. Heath Kihn hit a three-run homerun for the Barracudas, while Chad Cundliffe (2 RBI) added three hits in the loss.[[In-content Ad]]
