Bermuda's children are more prepared for football than church
How interesting to call that Friday, Good Friday. If you focused on the crime that they committed and how they handled Jesus; if you focused on the death-desire they had for Jesus, you would be hard-pressed to refer to that day as Good Friday. There seems little about it to be called "good".
Yet, the ultimate and end product of Good Friday is that Jesus did it! Jesus was able to carry the sins of the world on His shoulders and take those sins to the grave. Jesus was able to bury the sins that He carried for you and for me, and victoriously complete the good work for which His Father had sent Him to the earth to do. That's good.
As you look on the work that Jesus wrought while on the cross, you must understand that Jesus was fulfilling the sacrificial needs of the past, present, and future. Look at the shape of a cross; one arm of the cross looks back into the past, the center of the cross (the vertical part) represents the present, and the other arm points to the future.
The shape of the cross is a testimony of the reality we currently face in the island of Bermuda. How ironic that on a holy weekend, all hell would break loose. Let's face it! Satan still hates Jesus, and Satan still hates Good Friday through Easter. Satan still places in the hearts of the unfocused and unfaithful the need to kill, steal, and destroy. That remains Satan's plan.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Now Bermuda, you must take heed of the complete scripture text. For, while the enemy of your soul has a plan, God has the remedy to that plan. The spirit of the devil or the spirit of the antichrist works and is propelled forward by one thing only and that thing is the spirit of hate!
Therefore the only way to counteract what is occurring in the island is for the spirit of love to prevail. And you know what Bermuda, the only way to truly learn what TRUE LOVE is, is to have a relationship with the One who demonstrated TRUE LOVE.
Bermuda has sown to the wind and is now feeling the effects of a mighty whirlwind that has the potential to gain even more strength. You have kept your children away from Sabbath and Sunday School, and you expect them to grow up knowing what love is. You have reproduced out of lust and no longer love the father or mother of the children, and yet you expect them to learn how to honour and love mother and father. You have taught your children that church and the love and fellowship with the people of God is only necessary for weddings, funerals, and baby dedications, and yet you expect those same children to operate in the love that comes from God.
Bermuda is tormented because she has placed the love of money and the love of self before the love of God. When was the last time you took your child to church to learn about the love of Jesus? I am amazed at how many children are not prepared for church, but are more than prepared for football games on the day of worship.
Let me encourage, in particular, the parents of children in their formative years (up to 4 years of age); help form your child into a caring and loving young person, preteen, teenager, young adult, and adult. Invest in your child by taking out the time to train him while he is young.
Jesus died on a cross for the sins of mankind. Now it becomes the choice of mankind to accept and live by the love of God; the love of Jesus. Our children will live. They will either live with the love of Jesus according to Calvary, or they will not learn what true love is. When you love as Jesus loves, you will honour the cross. You will honour the past and appreciate what others have done in order for you to be blessed today. You will honour the present, treasure love, and love God, yourself, and your neighbour as yourself. You will honour the future and be sure to create a better world for the sake of your children and your children's children.
Bermuda, the only way to stop the blood from running in the streets of Bermuda, is for the people of Bermuda to honour the blood that Jesus shed for the sins of mankind once again.
The power of choice is in your hands. What will you do with The Cross of Calvary and The Christ of Calvary? What will you do with your choice?
