It’s not all doom and gloom at the Bermuda Cricket Board.
The organization found out yesterday it had won the ICC Global Photo of the Year Award, marking the third year in a row the BCB has taken home one of the ICC’s global awards.
The photo, taken by Samantha Dill, shows Aunde Todd, 5, competing in the BCB Under 8 Youth Programme.
Reginald Pearman, BCB president, said: “To be recognized for having the best photo of the year across the globe is an outstanding achievement.
“To beat out 94 other countries again and to have received three Global awards in three years is unprecedented success worldwide.
“This is an amazing accomplishment that confirms our dedication to the development of cricket in our community."
Andre Todd, Aunde’s father, said: “My wife and I are both overjoyed that the photo of Aunde has won this accolade. Aunde is very advanced at cricket because he regularly competes with his older brother DeAundre, playing many hours of cricket in the back garden.” n
“We are grateful for the Board for providing the children in our community with safe and fun activities for them to pursue.
“The BCB programmes have sparked their passion and enthusiasm for the sport. We are overjoyed that they both embrace cricket as a constructive and positive part of their lives and are very proud of their accomplishments."
