Bermuda win by 167 runs
Bermuda dispatched Argentina today with a 167 run victory. With Cayman, then the U.S. on tap next for the hosts, it sets up a possible interesting final match with Canada to decide the title.
But before that happens, Bermuda will have to make sure it bats better than it did today. Even though it was a thorough win, things could have turned out differently if veterans batsmen Janeiro Tucker and Irving Romaine hadn't rescued the team.
The squad was sent into bat by Argentina and quickly lost four wickets before Tucker (136 runs) and Romaine (77) righted the ship to take Bermuda to 282-6.
Argentina could only reply for 115 runs before being bowled out.
In the day's featured match, Canada put a severe dent in the USA's chance of repeating as champs with a convincing nine wicket win at the National Sports Centre. Rizwan Cheema continued his fine batting from the opening match with an unbeaten 114. C. Hooper took three wickets for Canada while R. Marshall had 48 for the States.
Cayman defeated the Bahamas by 111 runs.
Tomorrow's a rest day with action resuming on Monday. Bermuda will take on the last of the pre-tournament non-contenders in Cayman at the National Sports Centre; Bahamas face the wounded U.S. while Canada take on winless Argentina at Southampton Oval.
