Bermuda Pest Control exterminates Pinjammers


The top two teams lost this past week in the Continental Bowling League. Pinjammers fell 24 to 6 to Bermuda Pest Control while Quickie Lickie Laundry slipped past Nifty Rollers.

The biggest beneficiary to them falling was Cubs, who able to move into a tie for third place with Quickie Lickie. Cubs hammered the Invaders 25 to 5.

Other scores saw Pinsplitters double up Spicenix 20 to 10 and Odd Balls beat New Hope 19 to 11.

Richie Richardson had a 258 game and a 610 series while Bruce Benevides countered his good bowling with a 248 game and 625 series. Jaron Tucker also had a nice night using his 237 game as the basis for his 590 series.

Pebbles Tucker led all women with a 236 game and a 650 series. Marj Armstrong was runner-up in both categories with a 212 and 569 while Rochelle Harvey rolled a 210 and 558.

Fishbowl League

Marlins were able to increase their lead thanks to a 4-0 whitewash of Wahoo. Second place club Goldfish pulled out a 3-1 victory over Piranhas.

Mixed Majors Bowling League

Troublemakers closed the gap on leaders Mix-Ups with an 18 to 2 triumph over Strike Force. Mix-ups also won, beating Try Hards 14 to 6. Strikers had a tough time with bottom club Movers N Shakers and had to settle for a draw.

Other scores saw Untouchables defeat True Mix 16 to 4; Minimax Forwarders down Gang in Blue 15 to 5; and Activators down Fight Back 14 to 6.

Laura Simons rolled a 22 game and 541 series while Peaches Perinchief had a 215 game and 560 series. Sandra Ford (217) and Millicent Francis (539) also had good scores. Jackie Miller's 228 and 619 led all the men. Chris Maycock had a 214 game as the foundation for his 576 series while Vernon Daniels rolled a 213 and 597. Michael Glasgow had a 213 game.

Commercial Bowling League

BTC served notice to King Pins by blanking them 4-0. The whitewash leaves BTC just one point shy of catching the league leaders.

Sweet Life cancelled The Royal Gazette 4-0 while Braves downed Strikers 3-1. Other scores saw Spinners defeat Sunset and Double Trouble taking out Do It Best by 3-1 scorelines.

Doreen Smith had a 176 game followed by Sylvia Richardson (175) and Christine Adams (170). Richardson topped the series' scores with a 626 while Adams (613) and Shayna Hendrickson (603) backed her up.

Wayne Raynor had the night's high game with a 222. Anthony Smith (214) and Maurice Lowe (208) also rolled well. Smith ended the night with a 640 series, edging Raynor by four pins. Albert Gordon rolled a 623 series.
