Bermuda coach David Moore may be forced to tweak his bowling attack for tomorrow’s World Cricket League (WCL) Division Two clash with Hong Kong at the ICC Global Cricket Academy Oval in Dubai.

A side strain to seamer Malachi Jones, suffered in Bermuda’s 43-run loss to Papua New Guinea (PNG) earlier today, has left the star all-rounder doubtful for tomorrow’s match.

And this means coach Moore may have to explore his options to fill the potential void should Jones be declared unfit to play.

“We should be able to adapt and lean on other bowlers in the team. But we are hopeful that he (Jones) might be alright,” Moore told the Bermuda Sun.

Jones, who recently enjoyed a successful stint at the ICC Americas Regional Academy in St Kitts, underwent hospital scans following the match.

“At the moment we are just waiting to get some doctors reports on him,” Moore said. “We sent him for a scan and as soon as we get those results we will be able to make a decision on him.”

Two replacement seamers that could possibly get the nod are Jim West and Kyle Hodsoll.

But given the pitch Bermuda played on today offered a bit of turn Moore may decide to pin his hopes on his spinners for tomorrow’s clash with Hong Kong.

“The wicket was conducive to spin and so if that’s the case we might have a bit more of a spin focus,” Moore said. “We will just have to wait and see.”

As for today’s setback, Moore lamented: “It was very disappointing and unfortunately we made some poor decisions that let us down in the long run.

“The score we were chasing should’ve been gettable, but we just let ourselves down.”

Moore, though, is confident his players can quickly turn their fortunes around against Hong Kong.

“We know where we made our mistakes and so now we’ve got to pick ourselves up, refocus and make sure we get all those little things that we did poorly today right,” he said.
