Bermuda beat Bahamas by 7 wickets

Bermuda had little difficulty getting its Americas Championship off on the right foot.

The team beat Bahamas by seven wickets as seamer Kevin Tucker justified his recall to the team with a superb 3-9 at the National Sports Centre. Bahamas were all out for 128 in 44 overs in a match that was delayed by rain.

Bermuda replied with 130 in 28.1 overs with vice captain Stephen Outerbridge leading the way with a 36.

Other scores saw Canada handle Cayman with an eight wicket win at Wellington Oval in St. George's. That match was reduced to 41 overs and Cayman had a 132-9 thanks in part to stingy bowling by the Canadians. Canada raced to 133-2 in just 20.1 overs with Rizwan Cheema with an unbeaten 79.

Defending champs U.S. piled up 347 runs in 50 overs to trounce Argentina who could only muster 227-9 runs in reply at Lord's in St. David's.

That means all three favoured teams won, but tomorrow Canada takes on the U.S. in the day's highlight match. That game will be played at the National Sports Centre.

Bermuda will seek to run its record to 2-0 as it plays Argentina at Bailey's Bay.

Bahamas and Cayman will play at Southampton Oval. That match was originally scheduled for Somerset Cricket Club.[[In-content Ad]]
