THURSDAY, DEC. 2: Bermuda today signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) with the second largest trading nation in the world.

Premier and Finance Minister Paula Cox and Wang Li, Deputy Commissioner of the State Administration of Taxation of the People’s Republic of China, signed the agreement at Camden.

There are 680 entities in Bermuda with a Chinese connection.

Ms Cox said: “In the negotiation of this TIEA a framework was established for deepening economic and commercial relations between our two jurisdictions and in facilitating our outreach to other markets within Asia.”

She said: “I am sure that there will be much that will flourish from this signing.”
