The Pedal Bike Challenge is scheduled during halftime of the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club's National Championship Series at the Bermuda Motorsport Park in Southside, St. David's. Racing begins at 2pm on Sunday with Outerbridge versus DeGrilla halftime challenge occurring at 3:30pm.
Jazmine vs. Bruce
Outerbridge, 14, is the reigning 2008 Female Iron Kid. She has competed in the Capital G Iron Kids triathlon since 2003, swimming, biking and running her way to the overall female victory last year.
Degrilla Jr., 13, is a member of the Team Tuned Motorcycle Racing Team. His race class in the BRMC is GP125, he rides a Honda RS 125 and he has been riding for four years.
They both hope to show Bermuda that no matter your sport or gender through hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals. Through the Iron Kids triathlon, youth can mature their swimming, pedal biking and running skills as Jazmine did in nearly seven years as an Iron Kid.
The triathlon will be held on Saturday, June 13th at Clearwater Beach in St. David's, with the official triathlon beginning at 3pm and entertaining festivities beginning at 12 noon and continuing throughout the day.
Triathlon registration fees are $10 for children 7 years through 14 years old and $5 for children 3 to 6 years old. The registration deadline for the Capital G Iron Kids triathlon is Thursday, June 11. Register by June 3rd for a chance to win one of two bikes provided by Bicycle Works.
