Three solo home runs was all A.F. Smith could muster as they lost 24 to 3 to Tuff Dogs in a men's softball game.

After three innings The Dogs were up 18 to 1 with shortstop Ryan Gaglio leading the way by going 4-5 with a homer and four RBI. Team-mates Paulo Arruda (3-5, 5 RBI) and Kevin Taylor (3-5, HR 3 RBI) also contributed to the victory.

Joe Hooks (3-5) followed Taylor's shot in the first with a solo homer run as Tuff Dogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead.

Left-fielder Andrew Simpson blasted a three-run homer in the second as part of an 11-run rampage by the Dogs.

Tony Humphries, Shawn Palmer and Carl Seymour homered for Smith. Both Palmer and Seymour had two hits apiece for A.F. Smith.

Frontier 27, Island Construction 11

Joe Bellanca (6-6, HR 5 RBI) was perfect at the plate as the Frontier Flyers had no problem in blowing up Island Construction. Bellanca had a grand slam in the second inning and also scored four runs.

Preston Mallory (2-5) homered in back-to-back innings, including a grand slam as he drove in eight runs. Gerald Simons (3-5) had three of the weakest singles to torment the losers.

Coach Tracey Bean was 3-6 and drove in four, two on a homer in the first inning.

Greg Bell (2-4) hit his first-ever homer but then was unfortunate to end the game on a shot out of the park for an out.

Mark Pacheco was 2-4 and scored three times and pitcher Josh Strang did his best to help his own cause by going 3-4.[[In-content Ad]]
