April fight for Perozzi?
The newlywed has not landed a jab on the big canvas since losing to German Natascha Ragosina by a unanimous decision in a super middleweight title fight for seven- belts in March of 2008.
Following that heartbreaking loss the Bermudian's career reached a crossroads when she and U.S.-based trainer, George Cuozzo, parted ways under controversial circumstances.
Perozzi had complained of being "undercooked" for arguably the biggest fight of her career with Ragosina, a fight Cuozzo insists the Bermudian could have won had she stuck to the original "game plan".
In any case, the former NABC middleweight champ is now in negotiations that could lead to a "warm up" bout with an American opponent on local shores as early as next Spring.
She said: "I am trying to gets talks going about fight night. They (organizers) are leaning towards it, but I am not going to get my hopes up yet. But hopefully I will have something here in April.
"I have a girl lined up from West Virginia. She's not highly ranked, but I haven't fought in nearly two years. It would be a four or six round kind of warm up fight just to get back in the ring."
The 36-year-old mom and multiple Bermuda Sun Sportswoman of the Year has kept herself in tip top physical condition outside of the ring. And with husband Ande firmly in her corner has yet to officially pull the plug on her pro career.
She added: "My husband has been very supportive trying to get me back in the ring. I have the support at home and so I don't want to rule anything out yet. If it's meant to be it will come my way."
