Amlin slams two homers as Ernst wins 21-14
Ernst had 28 hits with Mike Sterzuk and Mike Fox also collecting four each.
Garic Swainson and Tracey Bean were both 4-5 with a homer for the Panthers while bottom of the order Adam Matatall (3-5) blasted two out of the park.
Tuff Dogs 28, Barracudas 15
Tuff Dogs had little difficulty in beating an under-manned Barracudas 28 to 15. The Dogs took a while to get going with Ryan Gaglio (5-5, 9 RBI) providing the early spark with homers in the first and second innings. But it was in the fifth and sixth innings the team came alive plating 19 runs. Justin Barritt (5-5) had three hits in those two innings. Both Hywel Brown and Ryan Calhoun were 3-4.
Shannon Gosse, Heath Kihn, Steve McLaughlin and Greg Pereira all hit homers for Barracudas while Yan Arsenault was 4-5.
Barracudas 26, A.F. Smith 4
On Monday the Barracudas were able to regroup to record a comfortable victory over A.F. Smith 26 to 4. Jason Taylor (3-5) was the hitting star with two homers and seven RBI. Gosse, Arsenault, McLaughlin and Chris Weislo all had three hits for the victors. Jonathan Smith (2-4) and Winston Simmons were the only two Smith batters to record two hits.
Arctic 12, TPC Tees 11
Sam Fielding won the game for Arctic against the Tuckers Point Club Tees when she took a bases loaded walk to bring home the go ahead run. Arctic won the game 12 to 11, but was trailing by two going into the bottom of the seventh when three consecutive walks brought home two runs. Chris Hirst and Martin DeSilva were both 2-3 for Arctic while Hirst and Tina Rowse each knocked in two runs. Carlton Tyrell (4-4) and Chaka DeSilva (3-4) were the best hitters for TPC Tees.
BEST 21, Aspen 6
Paulo Arruda (3-4) had a successful debut for BEST as he blasted a homer and drove in three runs in a 21 to 6 triumph over Aspen. Team-mates Romar Douglas and Scott Doughty were also 3-4 with a homer and three RBI.
Aspen lost their second consecutive game to BEST by 15 runs, but were much improved in this game with Dave Angoue leading the way by hitting two out of the park and driving in the first four runs. Vashon Martin was 2-2 after coming in as a sub.[[In-content Ad]]
