15k race support for Grand Prix
FRIDAY, APR. 20: The Bermuda Grand Prix received a $15,000 infusion from title sponsor Butterfield Bank.
The Butterfield Grand Prix begins in King’s Square, St George’s on Friday, 20 April at 5:30pm with the Time Trials. Racing continues on Saturday at 7:30am with the Road Race that starts and finishes at Southside in St David’s.
The final stage of the race, the Hamilton Criterion, takes place on Sunday between 9am and noon.
Bermuda Bicycle Association president Nigel Godfrey said: “Butterfield has been a wonderful partner as title sponsor of the Grand Prix for three years running.
Their enthusiastic and helpful employees who donate their time as marshals and volunteers are a key part of the ongoing success of this most significant race on our calendar. The 2012 Butterfield Bermuda Grand Prix continues the more-than-twenty-year tradition of Grand Prix racing in Bermuda and serves to highlight the world-class abilities of our local cyclists.”
