Riders had to deal with gusts of 50-plus knot winds for Race 5 of the Bicycle Works Mountain Bike Race.
Held at the National Museum of Bermuda, the 50 competitors showed their guts and determination as they hared around the 1.25-mile course.
The route offered riders a rare look at some of Bermuda’s most historic buildings, with participants riding down the centre of the old Casemates prison.
In the Male ‘A’ Class, Dominique Mahyo took line honours, with Neil de Ste Croix in second, followed by Macio Talbot.
In the Male ‘B’ Class, Daniel Oatley finished first, followed by Andrew Hern and Paul Lindo.
Paul Tetly clinched the Novice Male Class race, with Craig Ferguson placing second and Travis Burland in third.
In the 13-16 Male Class, Matthew Oliveira crossed the line first followed by Christian Oatley in second and Alex Bordage in third.
Alyssa Rouse won the day in the 13-16 Female Class, ahead of Tristian Narraway and Jessie Godfrey in third.
In the Under 13 Male Class, Nahje Smith took the race, beating off challenges from Alexander Miller in second and Kaleb Madeiros in third.
In the Under 13 Female Class, Brazil Furbert took the honours.
The Bicycle Works Mountain Bike Racing Series continues next Sunday at Hog Bay Park, starting 9am .
