Bradford City are sweating on the fitness of Nahki Wells after the striker was taken off in the first half of the League One draw with Swindon.
The Bantams top scorer is now a major doubt for the New Year’s Day trip to Notts County.
However, manager Phil Parkinson remains upbeat that the hamstring problem is not a long-term issue.
He told the Telegraph & Argus: “It’s still a bit early to assess the injury but it doesn’t appear too bad. We’ll know more when it’s settled down a bit.”
He added: “It’s a blow for us because Nahki and Hans (James Hanson) are probably regarded as the best front two in the league and we just can’t get them on the pitch together for a full game.
“We got a goal up and then lost our key striker. You take the top scorer out of any team and it’s always going to be tough against a good team like Swindon.
“Without Nahki, we just lacked that clinical edge in the final third.”
