The Bermuda Football Association is pleased to announce that the Charity Cup of the 2013/14 season will be played on Wednesday, August 28th. The match will be held at Goose Gosling Field (BAA) and will feature the 2012/13 League Champions Devonshire Recreation Club (DRC) and the Dudley Eve Champions Somerset Cricket Club (SCC).

The Charity Cup was first introduced in 1984 and the North Village Rams have recorded the most wins with 7 followed by the Pembroke Hamilton Club and the Western Stars Sports Club (Dandy Town) with 5 each. Devonshire Cougars have won it twice (2007/2008 - 2010/2011) and the Somerset Trojans once in 1987- 1988.

The Charity Cup serves as the traditional curtain opener for the upcoming season and also serves as a fund-raiser for local charities. This year’s recipient will be St. Johns Ambulance (Bermuda). The St. Johns Ambulance operates in 40 countries worldwide and locally, serves the sporting and entertainment/arts community.  The staff at St. Johns is all volunteers and offers their services at no charge.

The Bermuda Football Association is honoured to be able to recognize the outstanding service provided by St. Johns Ambulance and wish to thank them and their volunteers for continuing to serve the Family of Football. We encourage the Family of Football to come and kick-off the 2013/14 season and assist us in offering our support to the St. Johns Ambulance of Bermuda.
