A 25-year-old man was gunned down in Devonshire last night.
The man was rushed to hospital and is currently in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Police descended on the Alexandra Road area of Devonshire at around 9:40pm yesterday after reports of gunfire.
Chief Inspector Calvin Smith said: "Upon arrival a 25-year old man was found with what we believe to be gun shot injuries and conveyed to hospital.
"He (the victim) was talking when he left the area.
"We believe the shooting occurred at a residence and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward."
Chief Inspector Smith said the investigation was still in its 'infancy' and said detectives would not rule out a link between the shooting and a fatal stabbing that happened in the same parish earlier the same day.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who man have seen someone acting suspiciously in the Alexandra Road area around 9:30pm to please contact police on 2950011 or the confidential Crime stoppers hotline on 800 8477.
