Celeb Watch: Cowell and the seX Factor

Does Lauren Silverman have excess X Factor or, as critics have cruelly suggested, is she merely a gold-digger? She’s the woman now tied to music producer extraordinaire Simon Cowell.

Reputedly worth $350 million, the X Factor founder impregnated the 36-year-old New York socialite — who’s already married.

Lauren and her husband Andrew Silverman were friends with Cowell. But that didn’t stop them from having an affair. Andrew has filed for divorce, citing Cowell as a key reason.

According to reports from TMZ and Celebitchy, Cowell dumped Lauren six weeks ago, before she told him she was pregnant.

But the current state of their relationship is unclear. Cowell was photographed on a yacht in St Tropez this week while Silverman is holed up in the Hamptons with hubby and son. The couple are reportedly working on a divorce deal and battling over custody of their son.

What a mess. The funny thing is, Cowell made it clear in the past that he never wanted kids because he wouldn’t have the time to be a good dad.

My favourite bad boy Chris Brown is back in the news.

You will remember he stopped in Bermuda in March to refuel his jet after performing in Ghana and allegedly kicked his bodyguard Big Pat off the plane after a row on board.

Brown tweeted this week: “Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album. Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it!”

Now I used to be a CB defender, but dude — grow up already! You keep doing stupid stuff, so of course people are going to bring up the Rihanna incident! Oh well, I guess we will miss your music. n
