Teen swore at police on Front Street

A 19-year-old man who cursed at police officers was today fined $1,000.

Tyshaun Brown was standing on Front Street on New Year’s Eve last year when he was approached by police officers.

Officers were on Front Street conducting foot patrols and saw Brown waving his hand in the shape of a ‘w’ in front of a group of young men.

When they approached Brown, they told him he would be searched for weapons.

He replied: “F**k you, you white f*****t. F**k you, you white cracker”.

Brown was arrested and taken to the Hamilton Police Station.

Addressing the court, he said: “I was drunk that night. I apologise to the court for my actions”.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him $1,000.
