Woman arrested on suspicion of drink-driving

Around 4am on Sunday, April 28th police officers on mobile patrol along Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road encountered a car being driven erratically through the area.

As a result the driver, a 24 year old Sandys parish woman, was caused to stop. She appeared to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested eight people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.

Officers also arrested nine people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
