Alleged escapee in court

A 26-year-old man today denied escaping from custody, assaulting police and giving a false name.

David Robinson appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning where he was charged with assaulting PC Moniz on April 16 in St George’s while she was in the execution of her duties.

He was also charged with escaping lawful custody and giving police a false name on the same date.

Robinson denied the charges and was remanded into custody until Monday afternoon when he will face trial.
