Over the Easter Holiday Weekend, unsubstantiated stories about the release of up to 150 government workers took up space in online media sites.
The Cabinet Office confirmed today that the stories were false.
Mr. Donald Scott, the Head of the Civil Service stated today: “A small number of casual, part-time or temporary workers concluded their work assignments at the end of March 2013 and were released. The number of persons released or not rehired as a result of the completed projects and temporary duties was 15 in total.
“No full time employees in established posts have been either released or terminated as implied in some of the irresponsible allegations that have been in circulation in online media.”
