Not only will Cathy Albright collect a paycheque, she will also be making a significant contribution to the community.
Bermuda CableVision announce that it has hired its first employee in the company’s Project HOPE initiative.
Project HOPE — which stands for “Help Offer Positions of Employment” — was launched in January at Bermuda CableVision’s “Salute to Service” banquet.
CableVision CEO Terry Roberson made an appeal to all those in attendance to do whatever they could to help those without employment to find work, whether for 30 days, 60 days or 90 days.
CableVision has hired hospitality veteran Cathy Albright to spearhead its ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ food drive food collections.
Ms Albright will work with CableVision for three months and is tasked with visiting various schools, businesses, churches and grocery stores to collect non-perishable food ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ food drive.
All the items gathered will then be distributed to various food banks across the island who are running feeding programmes for the needy.
Mr Roberson said: “Cathy’s background in hospitality is a great asset to the ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ food drive. When we found out that she was available, we asked her to come on board. She has the skill set that was needed to continue the programme. We look forward to working with her and we hope that other residents and businesses will also consider creating employment opportunities under the Project HOPE initiative.
Ms Albright added: “I was approached by Bermuda CableVision to lead this project and I thought it was a wonderful programme, so I decided to come on board. I believe that my background in hospitality will benefit the ‘Open Hands Loving Hearts’ food. There are many people in Bermuda who are in need and I encourage the community to give freely.”
Bermuda CableVision invites residents and businesses across the island to join the Project HOPE initiative and hire members of the community who are unemployed. Interested parties should contact CableVision’s Rollin Nathan at 292-5544 for more information. n
