A Bermuda-based business bringing the Island the best of UK TV is expanding its service to include the Cayman Islands.

Ex-Pat TV was introduced to Bermuda by professional photographer David Skinner who came across the concept while on holiday in Spain, where it was popular with the British ex-patriate population.

Bermudian Mr Skinner has now installed scores of the Ex Pat TV boxes in Bermuda and is now setting his sights on the Cayman Islands.

“If you are a fan or are missing some classic British shows like Downton Abbey, Top Gear, Babylon or even current affairs programmes like Newsnight and Panorama, this has them all.

“British TV is popular around the world and you really don’t have to be an ex-patriate to enjoy it. I installed it for myself first to see how it worked and I watch it all the time,” said Mr Skinner.

An Ex-Pat TV set-top box is designed to replicate a Freeview receiver from the UK, Scandinavia or Greece, allowing you to view live TV from these countries anywhere in the world via your internet connection.

There is a two week catch-up facility on all of the receivers which allows people to view their favourite shows at their leisure. “It means you will never miss any of your favourite TV programmes again,” said Mr Skinner.

He added: “I’ve already sold some in the Cayman Islands and the feedback has been very positive. Like Bermuda, it has a large ex-patriate population, but it also a lot of fans of UK TV generally.

“The regulatory commission in Bermuda was very helpful in helping me to get set up and this really does provide another service for people to enjoy.”
