Hockey: Robinson brace hands Budgies Knockout glory
Keishae Robinson’s double was enough for Budgies to complete a 3-2 win over Ravens and clinch hockey’s ‘A’ Knockout Cup.
Tse Minors executed a penalty corner in the 19th minute to put Budgies one up before Ravens levelled through Jennifer Adderley just before half-time.
After the break, Ashley Pimentel put Ravens 2-1 up to raise their hopes of victory.
But Robinson hammered home two penalty corners in the 40th and 67th minute to seal glory for her team.
In the ‘B’ Knockout Cup, the result was reversed, with Ravens B nicking a 3-2 victory.
Budgies stormed into a two-goal lead through goals from Akilah Beckles and Jaselle Smith.
But Ravens were not to be outdone and goals from Megan Troake in the 54th and 56th minute and Leah Wright in the 66th saw them clinch the cup.
