Couple appeal to bike thief
A couple whose motorcycle was stolen from outside their home have made a direct appeal to the thief.
Carlita and Charles Burgess have urged the culprit to return the Sym 125 as soon as possible.
The bike, which belongs to Mr Burgess, was taken from outside the couple’s Paget home at some time between 4:30pm on May 5 and 6:30am yesterday.
Bus driver Mr Burgess discovered the bike had been stolen when he got up for work yesterday morning.
Mrs Burgess said: “To the culprits of this crime we are trying to make an honest living and would appreciate if you return our bike.
Just paid for
“We just finished paying for this bike and cannot afford to purchase a new one.
“Please think of others before you engage in such activity.”
The new bike, which is worth more than $4,000, has the licence plate BW149.
The thief also got away with a brand-new Nolan leather black and brown helmet as well as a red rain suit.
A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are being conducted into this reported stolen motorcycle and anyone who may have information on its whereabouts should contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.”
