A Marketplace employee was today remanded in custody after he denied stealing over $18,000 in cash and gift certificates on May 3 this year.

Forty-four-year-old Donald Scott of Southampton is accused of taking seven money bags from a safe in the Hamilton store on the night in question.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Scott into custody and ordered he reappear for mention in two weeks.
